§ 01 — The work

We are building out our roster of mix engineers for podcast and longform audio work. You will work with senior producers from rough cut through master, with a clear remit: make the show sound like what it is.

We mix to broadcast loudness standards. We score patiently. We do not compress every show into a single sonic profile. We expect engineers to have opinions about EQ, room tone, and noise floor — and to make those opinions a part of the cut.

This is project-based work. We pay current market rates, deliver clean source files, and never assign engineers to projects we have not budgeted properly.

§ 02 — What we look for

  • 01Three-plus years mixing podcasts, audio drama, or longform nonfiction radio
  • 02Fluency in current DAWs (Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic — any will do)
  • 03Demonstrated ability to mix for cadence and pacing, not just clarity
  • 04Comfortable working with rough cuts from producers and editors
  • 05Sound design instincts — not just engineering

§ 03 — What we don't

We try to be specific about who this role is not for.

  • ×Engineers whose strongest work is music-only
  • ×Anyone who treats levels and loudness as the entire job

§ 04 — Apply

Send your work, not a cover letter.

Send three episodes you mixed (note your role and the chain you used), your standard hourly rate, and a paragraph on the most overrated mix decision in current podcasting.

Include

  • Three mixed episodes with your role
  • Standard hourly rate
  • Note on a mix trend you'd push back on

We read every application within two weeks. We respond to every applicant whose work we read, even briefly. We do not use ATS keyword filters.
